Facility-based High Cost Drug

This program reviews the drugs billed under the contracted high cost drug revenue codes to validate that the drug was administered to the patient, as well as the quantity, dose, strength, units, etc.

The audit also involves review of the provider’s vendor invoice to confirm that the provider billed in accordance with contract terms when these terms are on a “cost-plus” basis (as is often the case).
